The Stockpot

The one thing that you will need when making the casseroles and hotpots featured on our pages is a very sturdy stockpot and we recommend the one features below. I actually purchased this stockpot and use it for all of my casserole cooking and it has had a right hammering and stood up to whatever I throw at it.

The stockpot we recommend is the Cookware Pro Anodised Stockpot which is a great choice for many reasons. Firstly it has a none stick base and so you can brown your meats, onions and garlic just like you would in a frying pan and so this stockpot eliminates the need of a frying pan; simply throw the meat in and brown it, then add the onions and garlic to soften them and then add the rest of the ingredients. How easy is that?

Another great thing about this stockpot is that it is completely ovenproof and so you can transfer it from the hob and into your oven and it will be fine. Not all stockpots are nonstick and ovenproof and so this is ideal as you know it will be great for cooking your casseroles and hotpots.

The other advantage is that it is cheap, easily the cheapest deal I could find with many of the other stock pots that are ovenproof and nonstick costing well over £100 with this costing more like £40 and it will last a very long time as it is very well made.

And it is also very large and so you can cook some huge casseroles which can last for days or feed a large amount of people.
